Workshop for Women in Business Brings Together More Than 150 Entrepreneurs

More than 150 women entrepreneurs gathered at MTS Hall for the workshop “Small and Powerful”, a full-day event organized ahead of International Women’s Day that combined practical knowledge in finance, digitalization, and marketing with the aim of supporting women who already run businesses or are just starting their entrepreneurial journey.

Participants used the opportunity to gain knowledge for business development and actively took part in the program by asking questions, sharing personal examples, and engaging in discussions. The practically designed program began with the presentation of NALED’s Small Business Council and its priorities, introduced by Irena Đorđević Šušić from NALED, followed by a lecture by startup expert Luka Prišunjak on testing and launching business ideas.

This was followed by presentations on support programs by Nevena Marčeta from NALED and Sonja Nikić from the Development Fund, while Milica Golubović from NALED presented the benefits of the POS program within the “Better Way” initiative, explaining how small businesses can introduce cashless payments free of charge. Dušan Roglić from Roglić Company then spoke about fiscal cash registers and the e-Invoice system, while Vladimir Pavlović from Omorika Ventures Fund shared insights on financial planning. Marketing expert Vladimir Mladenov addressed digital transformation.

The final part of the program featured a lecture by influencer and marketing expert Strahinja Ćalović on branding and digital marketing.

– This event confirms something important: empowering women in business is not only an individual success. It represents economic strength, a driver of social progress, and an encouragement for launching new business ventures, expanding cooperation, and creating new success stories. I believe that the knowledge and contacts you gained here will have a strong impact and help women’s entrepreneurship in Serbia continue to grow – said William Hopkinson, Head of the Political Section at the British Embassy in Serbia.

According to him, data also show how necessary such programs are. The results of a survey conducted by Ipsos in cooperation with NALED indicate that one quarter of small businesses and entrepreneurs would benefit from training in online advertising, while one fifth need additional training in strategy development and social media. Among businesses led by women, the need for education is even more pronounced – 29% of women entrepreneurs highlight online sales, 39% online advertising, and 30% social media.

For this reason, the program of the “Small and Powerful” workshop for women entrepreneurs was designed to address these challenges. Through practical sessions, participants learned how to test and launch business ideas, plan finances, understand fiscal obligations and the e-Invoice system, and use digital tools and marketing to achieve greater market visibility.

The final part of the program was dedicated to “gifts that inspire action” – valuable prizes for participants provided by partners behind the regional conference Fempower, as well as Tehnomanija, Strahinja Ćalović, Delfi, Dušan Roglić, iDook media production, Nova Analitika agency, and Krojačeva škola.

The winners of these prizes were: Agneza Trpkovski, Ana Jovanov, Andrijana Čarapić, Ivana Brsanović, Ivana Đorić, Jelena Savić, Jelena Petrović, Maja Spasojević, Marija Bojat, Marija Kaličanin, Marina Kaplarević, Marta Mikić, Mina Panajotov, Nikolina Vujadinović, Radmila Šmigić, and Teodora Vidaković.

As a reminder, the “Small and Powerful” program is implemented by NALED and funded by the British Embassy in Serbia.
